Many of you have been with us through the changes over the past year, and we want to be open about what’s happening with our prices starting April 1st. Last summer, our business reached the VAT threshold, which meant we had to register for VAT. To ease the impact on you, our valued customers, we temporarily lowered our dog grooming prices. This was a way to soften the effect of VAT until April 1st, 2026. Now, as that date approaches, we are adjusting our prices by £2 to reflect the original rates plus VAT.

This change means a groom that was £57.60 will now be £60. We want to explain what this means for you and for us, and why this adjustment is necessary to keep providing the quality care your dogs deserve.

Why We Reduced Prices When VAT Started

When we became VAT registered last summer, we faced a choice: pass the full VAT cost on to customers immediately or find a way to ease the transition. We chose the latter. By lowering our prices temporarily, we absorbed part of the VAT cost ourselves. This helped many of you adjust without feeling a sudden price shock.

For example, a groom that would have been £60 was reduced to £57.60. This reduction was a temporary aid, designed to last until April 1st, 2026. We wanted to show our appreciation for your loyalty and support during this time.

What the Price Increase Means for You

Starting April 1st, the prices will increase by £2. This means:

  • A groom that was £57.60 will now be £60.

  • The new price covers the previous £2 reduction plus the VAT.

  • You will be paying the same amount as before we registered for VAT.

This adjustment means you are not paying more than the original price before VAT registration. Instead, we are simply returning to the price level that allows us to cover our costs and continue offering excellent dog grooming services.

How VAT Affects Our Business

VAT is a tax that businesses must pay on goods and services once they reach a certain turnover threshold. For us, registering for VAT meant:

  • We must charge VAT on all services.

  • Our pricing needs to reflect these changes to remain sustainable.

The £2 price increase is not profit for us. It covers the VAT we pay to the government. Without this adjustment, we would be earning less than before VAT registration, which is not sustainable for maintaining quality grooming.

Why We Value Your Support

We are truly grateful to every one of you who has trusted us with your dogs. Your support has helped us through this transition. Whether you have:

  • Left reviews

  • Recommended us to friends and family

  • Engaged with our social media posts

Each action helps us grow and maintain a business that cares deeply about your pets.

What This Means for the Future

By adjusting our prices now, we can continue to invest in:

  • High-quality grooming products

  • Skilled and caring staff

  • A clean, safe, and welcoming environment for your dogs

We want to keep providing the best dog grooming experience possible. This price increase helps us do that without compromising on quality.
